Sales Continue Slump, Suzuki Canada bankruptcy

OTTAWA - As American Suzuki announced that they withdrew from the local market last November, when it said sales in Canada continued. But now it seems to just be going far this year, Suzuki Canada said it would stop selling their products in 2014.

This decision was not entirely a surprise, the Canadian market is still smaller when compared with the U.S.. According to the Financial Post, and reported also in the Motorcycle (27/03/2013), Suzuki Canada only sold 5500 units of vehicles in 2012, representing 0.3 percent of the local market share. Whereas in America, Suzuki said it sold only 1764 units in the month of February 2013.

Knowing this is tantamount to saying Suzuki Canada will cease from the automobile industry. Direct import of vehicles is also not a solution because it cost a lot of traffic and sales do not reflect conviction.

The reason for the delay until next year due to Suzuki Canada have first order for the model in 2014 from Suzuki Motor Corporation in Japan. Suzuki says it's done when the center of American Suzuki caption describing the results closely monitor market conditions, as well as a lengthy review of the automotive production capacity in Canada.

Just like America, Suzuki Canada will shift their focus to sales of motorcycles, ATVs, and marine division. While said also, Suzuki Canada will continue to guarantee all warranty remaining and still provide parts and service to all their customers.
