Daihatsu in Indonesia Production Reaches 3 Million Units



JAKARTA-In the age to 35 years, PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM) celebrates the achievement of production of 3 million units since the first production in 1978 ago.

Daihatsu establish initial investment stamping plant in 1978, followed by engine plant in 1983, and the establishment of a single agent and importer company Daihatsu vehicles in 1987.

The three companies merged in 1992 into PT Astra Daihatsu Motor as the holder of Daihatsu brand in Indonesia.

"ADM apply the concept of SSC (Simple, Slim, and Compact) on all of its production facilities. However, has been equipped with an integrated facility that is able to perform all vehicle production processes include processes Stamping, Welding, Painting and Assembling," said Director of Manufacturing ADM Pongky Prabowo at the ADM plant in Sunter, North Jakarta, Wednesday (04/10/2014).

Achievement of 3 million units of production is contributed by products Daihatsu Xenia and Toyota Avanza as much as 1,518,726 units, Daihatsu Terios and Toyota Rush 272 637 units, Daihatsu Gran Max, Luxio, Town Ace-Lite Ace as much as 305 137 units, and the remaining 925,172 units contributed by previous models.

This achievement was also noted by the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI) as the Company's first car assembly production reached 3 million units.

"Achievement is the production of 3 million units milestone, in the development of this because of ADM for making it the largest automotive manufacturers in Indonesia," said President Director of ADM, Sudirman MR.
